Lydia's house today. We made pots on a little pottery wheel. It was cheap and plastic so it didn't work that well, but it brought back good memories. Then Liam, Lydia's love, came over to play. We played run around in circles. Wow. Tiring. Eventually I gave up (I'm bigger and not as good at this kind of thing, right!), and flopped down on a cushiony object not far from the 7ft by 7ft square we were running on.
Then Lydia and Liam started competing over who could stay up longer spinning around in circles. "Mikhail Barishnikov did 11 pirouettes in a movie one time." I say. "Who was she?" "He was a dancer." "He? What kind of guy dances?". I love teaching them things.
Lydia loses. Liam keeps going and going. "Watch out," he says, "I can't even tell what I'm falling into."
